Explore Skåne : Hovs Hallar. Day 1.

From Malmö to Hovs Hallar.

Getting there.

The road to Hovs Hallar was longer than I expected by public transport, also not so easy to reach this corner of nature. Similar to the most beautiful park - Stenshuvud, no public transport... IF there is then several km away from the actual spot, so, I don't know why Skåne/Sweden calls itself a very green country in transport wise, when to reach most touristic nature spots can ONLY BY A CAR. I am sorry, but a person with disabilities in a wheelchair or an older person could not reach. A bit sad... Of course for young legs and adventure in heart travellers like me and Iris, it was just another interesting hiking experience. Maybe there is a better way to get to Hovs Hallar... Maybe start hiking from Båstad and do the whole half-circle skåneleden until you end up in Ängelholm, but we skipped that, we went opposite direction.

Hovs hallar.

The hike from Hovs village was nice, even though a bit boring and took the energy away from us, but once we reached Hovs hallar, we were back on energy boost, and enjoyed the wide-open sea scenery! We arrived in the daytime, a bit late afternoon, so, we did not hike down to the beach, but followed the skåneleden path which kept being on the cliffs up. I don't remember how many hours it took us, but exactly by an evening we reached the designed campsite for hikers on the hill and at bottom of the hill was a hiker's shelter with campfire spot and wood, outdoor toilet and water. YES, water is the most problematic thing while on skåneleden. I have to carry the big 1l bottles myself as nowhere to fill up on the way. Or I am not smart and don't know if actually there were some water spots...

It's beautiful. It's amazing scenery and I want to go back!

Skåneleden links about Hovs hallar hiking trails:

Ettap 17 Hovs Hallar - Torekov. The opposite direction which could have done and take the bus from the destination back to Ängelholm/Båstad and then train to Malmö. It must be beautiful scenery too as from this trail can see the impressive Kullaberg national park.
Ettapt 16 Båstad - Hovs Hallar. We did this trail, but opposite direction, starting from Hovs Hallar and ending up in the posh "little Stockholm" Båstad.

The public transport route we did.

Then you had to hike to the nature reserviour.
Ängelholm

Förslöv station

Finally closer to Hovs Hallar.
